    • Review borrower documentation, credit reports, title reports, and appraisals, ensuring compliance to applicable regulations and guidelines.
    • Manage loan files through the underwriting queue in a timely, accurate and complinat manner.
    • Effectively train new underwriters to meet the requirements of their position and existing underwriters on changes to processes, guidelines and regulations as they occur.
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge of investor guidelines and related requirements.
    • Provide supervision and guidance to the underwriting team in a manner that promotes efficient and high quality loan flow through the underwriting queue.
    • Provide regular pipeline management reports and feedback to the VP Mortgage Operations and other members of management, as required.
    • Serve as primary trainer on product and investor changes for all production staff, working with Senior Management, to effectively deliver appropriate training courses.
    • Reinforce GNM's culture on a daily basis


    • 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
    • Core understanding of mortgage products/guidelines
    • Understanding of pipeline management
    • Ability to communicate effectively 
    • Understanding of how to lead people in a highly stressful environment
